The $15 million Healthy School Communities program invites a non-government organisation linked to the school (such as Parents and Citizens/Friends Association, school auxiliaries like the school canteen and a researsh company like YNDK Pty Ltd) to apply for the $1,500 grant.
Healthy School Communities also involves dental health because fermentable carbohydrate in most of the foods we eat, are trapped between teeth and inside grooves on chewing surfaces where the brush cannot reach and almost all cavities occur.
Chewing cheese before eating seals grooves in chewing surfaces to prevent food being trapped while eating so plaque cannot change sugar to acid.
