Schools are eligible for Government ASISTM funding between $20,000 and $120,000. http://www.asistm.edu.au to form a cluster of school, and non school partners like YNDK Pty Ltd to develop a new science, technology and maths initiative. You are also encouraged to develop the Healthy School Communities program with a $1,500 grant. The $15 million Healthy School Communities program invites a non-government organisation linked to the school (such as Parents and Citizens/Friends Association, school auxiliaries like the school canteen and a researsh company like YNDK Pty Ltd) to apply for the $1,500 grant.

Healthy School Communities also involves dental health because fermentable carbohydrate in most of the foods we eat, are trapped between teeth and inside grooves on chewing surfaces where the brush cannot reach and almost all cavities occur.

Chewing cheese before eating seals grooves in chewing surfaces to prevent food being trapped while eating so plaque cannot change sugar to acid.

Chewing a stick of celery after eating helps saliva remove food, neutralise acid and repair demineralised tooth. See the teachers kit http://ndk.biz/kit

Almost all cavities occur where the brush cannot reach plaque or trapped food between teeth and inside grooves on chewing surfaces.
Over 80% of cavities occur inside grooves.

When having x-rays at the dentist it is possible to chew Barium Sulphate with the dental foam to see where food is trapped inside chewing surfaces. This helps the dentist advise mineralisation therapy, sealants or fillings if necessary when a cavity is seen inside the tooth.
